The Tourism Bureau launched the "Travel to Yilan, Hualien, Taitung, Kaohsiung & Pingtung for a Warm Winter" travel subsidy in November, which received an overwhelming response. To further boost domestic travel enthusiasm and encourage young people to explore within Taiwan, the Bureau is now planning to expand the program beyond county restrictions, offering additional subsidies for travelers under 30. The new measures are expected to be implemented next year to stimulate domestic travel during the Lunar New Year period.

Since the launch of the warm winter subsidy program, hotel occupancy rates in participating cities and counties have increased by 10% to 30%, reflecting a positive response. The original budget of NT$95 million was later adjusted to an unlimited quota with a deadline, allowing applicants to claim the subsidy before the end of December.

According to the Tourism Bureau, individuals under 30 are highly mobile, and the youth subsidy initiative encourages them to visit areas rich in Taiwan’s local cultural heritage. The program will integrate local revitalization and community development efforts.
