South Korea’s popular “horseshoe-shaped churros” open in Taipei – these 7 flavors are only available in Taiwan

After half a month of trial operation, the ultra-popular Korean queue-worthy food“Street Churros Churros Specialty Store”, the first overseas flagship store in Asia, officially opened on the 19th in Taipei’s East District. In addition to introducing authentic Korean-style churros flavors, the agent has also developed one limited-edition churros flavor, dipping sauces, and five seasonal fruit special blended slushies that are only available in Taiwan. These seven Taiwan-exclusive flavors are must-try items for fans!

Why introduce Street Churros? Huang Yu-hsin, vice president of agency Luxe International Co., Ltd., said that the churro sticks commonly seen in Taiwan are usually frozen and freshly baked products, while Street Churros emphasizes made-to-order service, ensuring customers receive them hot and even more delicious. In addition, from product design to packaging, the brand showcases not just “making snacks,” but operates it as a trendy product. Therefore, they decided to introduce it and allow more Taiwanese people to enjoy it.

In making the churros, to faithfully reproduce the taste of Street Churros from Korea, everything from ingredients to production equipment is imported from Korea to Taiwan, while also adhering to the “made-to-order” concept. After a customer places an order, it takes about three minutes from flour, kneading the dough to completion to produce a hot churros.

Upon actual tasting, because it is made to order, one bite of the churros reveals a crispy outside and soft inside texture without being greasy; the uniquely named “Achoo” has ice cream with a rich milky aroma, paired with the soft churros, it’s like enjoying a milky-flavored churro stick; the specialty of the cheese churros hot dog lies in using the churros as the outer bread, so the crust is crispy and soft, but the pickles slightly overpower the flavor of the sauce, and the cheese flavor is not very prominent.

In addition to offering authentic Korean flavors, the Street Churros Taiwan Flagship Store has also specially developed several Taiwan-exclusive flavors for local customers. Huang Yu-hsin pointed out that since the original flavor of Street Churros churros is cinnamon-flavored, considering that some Taiwanese are still not accustomed to the cinnamon flavor, they specially developed a “nut and grain flavor”; for dipping sauces, they used local Taiwanese ingredients to create a purple sweet potato sauce; for drinks, they also mixed and matched local Taiwanese fruits, launching five fruit slushies for the summer season, all of which are exclusive options only available in Taiwan.

The Street Churros Taiwan Flagship Store officially opened starting today. Huang Yu-hsin also revealed that they plan to open 14–15 branches across Taiwan within two years, and believes that before long, fans in different cities and counties will also be able to taste the unique deliciousness of Street Churros!
