【New Air Routes】Head to Myanmar as Direct Flights Are Launched One After Another

In the past, traveling to Myanmar meant having to apply for a visa in advance, and there were limited flight options — only one airline offered direct services, with flights departing at average times, often arriving in Myanmar in the early hours of the morning, while other airlines required layovers that took quite a long time.

However, this situation is about to change. Myanmar National Airlines will launch direct flights between Hong Kong and Yangon on December 4.Flights will depart from Hong Kongon Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays,andSundays, arriving in Yangon on the same afternoon,while return flights will depart from Yangon in the morning and arrive in Hong Kong around noon on the same day — the timing is relatively the best. For aircraft, Myanmar National Airlines will operateBoeing 737-800s with three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy, offering more spacious seating.

To celebrate the official launch of the new direct Hong Kong-Yangon route, Myanmar National Airlines is offering special ticket promotions starting from  $2,360, with taxes and surcharges of approximately $389 per person.

Meanwhile, HK Express will also launch direct flights to Myanmar, operating four and two weekly flights to Yangon and Mandalay respectively. Mandalay is located on the eastern bank of the Irrawaddy River.From unique monasteries to the Tooth Relic Pagoda, and from Mandalay Hill to the Kuthodaw Pagoda,all showcase the deeply rooted Buddhist culture of the region.

Myanmar has a long history, blending indigenous, British, Chinese, and Indian cultures. Its gleaming stupas, quaint streets, modern high-rises,colonial-era architecture, and monks in robes are all distinctive features.

It’s also worth mentioning that Myanmar National Airlines currently operates domestic routes to 26 destinations. In addition to the two major cities mentioned above, flying to Bagan and Inle Lake is also very convenient.
