Not just the sea view bookstore is the highlight—MITSUI OUTLET PARK Taichung Harbor’s container bookshelves are also eye-catching

The book area features 25-meter-wide floor-to-ceiling windows and 15 container bookshelves, located next to the sea-view Ferris wheel in the newly opened MITSUI OUTLET PARK Taichung Harbor. The entire store is positioned as a “maritime culture gathering platform.” The interior design cleverly incorporates elements such as ship wheels, cabins, decks, and ocean waves, echoing the harbor's characteristics.

The classically rooted Rose House from Taichung has also exclusively opened an innovative “ROSE HOUSE CAFÉ” sea-view café, where you can sip coffee, gaze at the sea, and read in leisure. Connecting with the local culture, Eslite Life Taichung Mitsui Store has curated the “Central Taiwan Literature Exhibition,” featuring a magnificent book wall of 300 works by authors deeply rooted in central Taiwan, including Qi Bangyuan, Liu Kexiang, and Lu Hanshou. It has also specially created a section for Jiang Xun, who taught at Tunghai University for many years, collecting his classic works to rediscover Eastern aesthetics.

Echoing the rich marine resources along Taiwan’s western coast, Eslite Spectrum Taichung Mitsui not only features an extensive collection of marine-themed books, a children’s ocean picture book wall, and a range of ocean-inspired stationery to create a “specialty store for collecting the sea,” but also introduces, in response to the unique temple culture of the coastal region, its first-ever “Welcome to Your Sanctuary” themed bookshelf. Additionally, it has set up a “Life is Like the Sea Fortune-Telling Booth,” where visitors can engage in the fun interactive experience of drawing fortune sticks and receive personalized book recommendations based on their draws!

In addition, Eslite Bookstore has partnered with the Dajia Zhenlan Temple’s “Zhenlan Children’s Home” on a “Reading Wish Collection Campaign,” allowing the public to sponsor wish-listed books to support children without parental care.
