Many countries offer city bike-sharing services, and slow cycling through urban areas has become a new trend. However, if you’re not familiar with local traffic rules, it’s better to stick to dedicated bike paths or routes popular with cyclists rather than navigating city streets randomly. CNN's travel website CNNGO recently unveiled the world’s top ten most beautiful cycling routes, spanning from Canada in the Northern Hemisphere to New Zealand in the Southern Hemisphere. In Asia, Udaipur in India, the Karakoram Highway, and the scenic loop around Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan made the list. 6. The Route des Grands Crus - Burgundy

France, famous for its red and white wines, offers a cycling journey through 800 kilometers of vineyards and wineries where you can enjoy the rolling hills and stop anytime for a sip. Of course, avoid cycling after drinking too much to prevent accidents.

7. Molesworth Road, Christchurch, New Zealand

This 320-kilometer road is only open from December 28 to April 1 of the following year. Due to its length, a minimum of five days is recommended to complete the route. As an uphill journey, though strenuous, it offers stunning views of rural towns and farmland, with a stop at the renowned Hanmer Springs along the way.

8. P’tit Train du Nord Linear Park, Quebec, Canada

Compared to the 300–400 kilometer routes mentioned earlier, this one stretches only 200 kilometers from Saint-Jérôme to Mont-Laurier. Converted from an old railway line into an asphalt path, it requires less technical skill but still tests your endurance. The scenery includes European-style villages, Mont-Tremblant, and spectacular mountain resorts.

9. The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, Canada to the United States

If the above routes aren’t challenging enough, try the ten-times-longer Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, stretching 4,418 kilometers from Banff to the Mexican border, with altitudes reaching up to 3,600 meters. This is currently the longest continuous mountain biking route in the world and is undoubtedly the ultimate goal for cycling enthusiasts.

10. Cycle Route 10, Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Netherlands is a cyclist’s paradise, so it’s no surprise to see it on the list. Cycle Route 10 spans 42 kilometers, passing through both rural and urban areas with historic sites to explore. Of course, there are also the country’s iconic windmills and street markets like Albert Cuyp.
