As spring arrives, many people plan to visit South Korea to admire the cherry blossoms. But have you ever thought about challenging yourself with a marathon while enjoying the blooms?
Gyeongju, South Korea, is home to numerous historic sites, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and has long been a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing.
Marathon runners will also pass through a tunnel of pink and white cherry blossoms while taking in the surrounding ancient ruins, attracting many tourists to participate every year.
Runners will start from the Gyeongju World Culture Expo Plaza. The course is 42 kilometers long, with full marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer, and 5-kilometer options. Participants can choose an event that suits their fitness level.
