No need to fly to Korea—Taoyuan now has a real-life “Full House”! A new Korean restaurant opened in Taoyuan this November, built by a Korean couple. From the exterior to the interior, the place is filled with pink elements, and there's even a trendy pink vending machine outside, sparking a wave of Korean-style vibes on Instagram.

Located in Taoyuan City, “Romantic Kitchen” officially opened on November 11. It was created by young Korean couple Chun Young-jin and Lee Jun-ho. The idea came about because the female owner wanted to stay in Taiwan, and her boyfriend decided to stay with her, which led to the birth of the restaurant.

Instead of opening a café, they chose to open a Korean restaurant. “There are many Korean restaurants in Taiwan, but they’re expensive. My boyfriend is a chef, so we thought opening a Korean restaurant in Taiwan might be a good idea.” Regarding ingredients, the owners mentioned that due to taste differences, they don’t use local Taiwanese ingredients—all are imported from Korea. The female owner highly recommends traditional Korean dishes such as spicy stir-fried chicken, kimchi stew, Korean soybean paste soup, and grilled meats.

Surprisingly, despite being Korean, she speaks fluent Chinese. “My boyfriend used to work in Japan, and I was studying in Taiwan. I’ve been in Taiwan for over four years now, and he stayed in Taiwan to be with me,” said Chun Young-jin.

The restaurant is full of strong Korean vibes, with neon lights and pink marble tables—all in eye-catching shades of pink. “The design and decor, including painting and lighting, were all done by ourselves. Even the Korean national flower, the hibiscus, was brought here from overseas.” The couple spent over a year planning before opening.
