Sour, spicy, and aromatic Thai cuisine is loved by many food lovers. Recently, the Thai home-style restaurant "Baan" opened its first overseas branch in Taiwan, bringing the most authentic and homely Thai dishes. If you love Thai food, you absolutely can't miss it!

The Michelin one-star Thai chef has brought the most authentic Thai home-style dishes to Taiwan with the opening of the Thai restaurant "Baan" (Photo / Baan, the same below)

Baan is a Thai cuisine brand created by Chef Ton from Thailand. It was established in 2015 and received the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand recommendation for two consecutive years. Another restaurant by Chef Ton, "Le Du," was ranked 14th on the "Asia's 50 Best Restaurants" list and also earned a Michelin one-star rating.

The curries and sauces at Baan are all seasoned from scratch, requiring meticulous effort and time.

The philosophy behind Baan is to provide a place where people can enjoy authentic Thai home-cooked dishes. All the dishes served at the restaurant are childhood home meals that Chef Ton grew up with. Through his exceptional culinary skills, he perfectly recreates the flavors of his hometown for diners around the world.

At Baan, ingredients are prepared using techniques such as hand-pounding, hand-shaping, and hand-tearing, then further flavored by pounding in traditional stone mortars. To bring the most authentic Baan experience to Taiwan, the Taipei branch also uses the same cooking methods to create delicious Thai dishes. Additionally, in terms of cooking, all seasonings and sauces at Baan are made from scratch, and only authentic ingredients and spices such as kaffir lime, galangal, holy basil, and bird’s eye chili are used — all to deliver the most genuine and delicious Thai flavors.

Moreover, the restaurant insists on using ingredients from environmentally friendly farms that focus on sustainable practices. Every dish at Baan is filled with the taste of Thai home cooking, making dining here feel as warm and comforting as eating at a Thai family’s home. You can enjoy super-authentic Thai cuisine without flying all the way to Thailand.
