After its official opening on November 3, 2018, the Taichung Flower Expo received widespread acclaim, with a variety of installation artworks complementing vast floral landscapes to create a modern and picturesque scene. While visiting the Taichung Flower Expo, another hidden gem has emerged in the Taiping District—a mini flower expo secret spot woven together with orange-yellow cosmos and purple zinnias.

In line with the core values of the Taichung Flower Expo, a central Taiwan developer created a mini version of the flower expo called the “Bear Secret Zone” at a planned residential site. The open-access park is free to enter, covers a total area of about 2,300 pyeong (approximately 7,590 square meters), and is a limited-time attraction open for three months.
The park’s landscaping feature “Echo of Love” is painted with playful and adorable black bears.
Amidst the blooming fields of zinnias and cosmos, the secret zone’s “Bear Family” can often be spotted lurking around various corners—some scenes are heartwarming, others playful. There are also forest-themed installations like “Resin Tree Path” and “Pine Forest Whispers,” planted with wax trees and deciduous cypresses, where the bears accompany passersby on strolls.
Walking through the tunnel feels like entering a secret garden in the city.
The park also features whimsical installation art and a tunnel painted with cute black bears, making it a perfect spot for friends and family to take photos and relax. However, as the park is open and unmanned, please help preserve the flowers and keep the area litter-free out of public spirit, so everyone can enjoy strolling through the beautiful Bear Secret Zone.

To celebrate the park’s opening, the developer is hosting the “Beware of Bears” FB check-in campaign. Take a photo with any of the bears in the “Bear Secret Zone” and upload it to Facebook with the appropriate tag to enter a lucky draw for a “Trip to Tokyo, Stay at Hotel Nikko.”
