According to online predictions, the cherry blossoms in Tokyo this year are expected to bloom mostly from late March to early April. However, traveling during that time means higher prices for both flights and hotels. If you've already booked your flight or are in Tokyo these next couple of weeks, the place we're introducing might be perfect for you!
Ueno Park: Cherry Blossoms and the Tokyo Skytree
Exit Asakusa Station and walk toward the Sumida River to reach Ueno Park. Located between Azuma Bridge and Sakurabashi Bridge, this area has been a popular cherry blossom viewing spot since the Edo period, with over 1,000 cherry trees lining both banks. Best of all, you can capture the Tokyo Skytree in the same frame.
However, as it's not yet peak blooming season, you'll need to spend some time searching and walk a bit further to find the blossoms. A telephoto lens makes it easier to capture the blooms. This time, the editor used a Nikon D810 with both a 24-70mm and an 80-400mm lens.
