The inauguration ceremony of Kaohsiung City Mayor was held at 8:30 AM on December 25th by the Love River. Traffic controls around the area began to be implemented from the 24th, and on the day of the ceremony, the Transportation Bureau arranged two free MRT shuttle bus lines, transporting passengers from MRT Red Line R9 Central Park Station and MRT Orange Line O4 City Council Station to the venue—make good use of them.

The ceremony venue is located in front of the most iconic landmark by the Love River, the “Soaring Dragon Leaping Over the Sea” (at the intersection of Minsheng 2nd Road and Hedong Road). In coordination with stage construction and the setup and business operations of vendors the day before, three phases of traffic control around the area began at midnight on December 24th.

Phase One─Stage construction / dismantling period
Time period: From 0:00 on December 24, 2018 to 6:00 on December 26, 2018.
Road sections: Hedong Road (Datong 2nd Road - Guangfu 2nd Street), Minsheng 2nd Road (Hedong Road - Shizhong 1st Road), north-side roadside parking spaces on Datong 2nd Road (Hedong Road - Shizhong 1st Road), south-side roadside parking spaces on Minsheng 2nd Road (Shizhong 1st Road - Chenggong 1st Road).
Phase Two─Vendors setup and business operation period
Time period: From 0:00 on December 24, 2018 to 15:30 on December 25, 2018.
Road sections: Hedong Road (Wangsheng Street - Wufu 3rd Road, excluding Zhongzheng Intersection), Minsheng 2nd Road (Hedong Road - Shizhong 1st Road).
Phase Three─Inauguration ceremony event period
Time period: From 7:00 to 13:00 on December 25, 2018.
Road sections: The enclosed area bounded by Hedong Road (included), Wufu 3rd Road (excluded), Chenggong 1st Road (excluded), and Zhongzheng 4th Road (excluded), as well as Hedong Road (Wangsheng Street - Zhongzheng Road).

For this occasion, two limited-edition commemorative Easycards were issued, with 888 copies available per design per day, limited to 2 per person per design, priced at NT$100 each, while supplies last.

Due to limited parking space around the venue, motorists are advised to park at seven transfer parking lots along the MRT lines and take the MRT to the venue. Alternatively, you can take city buses 0北, 25, 60, 76, 77, 214A, 248 to Taiwan Bank Station, or take 0北, 11, 24B, 25, 33, 50, 77 District, 214A to Kaohsiung Girls’ High School Station and walk to the venue. Everyone is welcome to make good use of these options.
In addition, after the inauguration ceremony, Han Kuo-yu will also spend the night at the Shiquan Produce Market, prompting road controls around the market. Those planning to visit should pay special attention to traffic.
