New Taipei City has added another check-in hotspot: the new waterside landscape bridge “Chenguang Bridge,” connecting the urban spaces on both sides of the Erchong Floodway. Designed with the legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl in mind, the bridge combines greenery, water play, food, and illuminated nightscapes, offering residents a new weekend leisure destination.

Located in the Happy Ripple Park of the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park, one end of Chenguang Bridge connects to the Sanchong Station of the Metro Xinlu Line and Airport MRT A2 Station, while the other links to the Left Bank Redevelopment Area and Xianse Temple. The bridge spans 605 meters and features two elevators built into the structure — a first in the area.

In its design, Chenguang Bridge draws inspiration from the reunion of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, featuring a double-curved, two-tiered bridge structure. The bridge deck integrates a scenic stream, a water play carpet, a light snack plaza, landscaped greenery, and five nighttime light sculptures, adding a new layer of dimension to the park's leisure area. Visitors can also enjoy views of Guanyin Mountain and watch the sunset from the bridge.

The New Taipei City Government has developed an extensive network of waterside bike paths along the river system. Extending from Sanchong Bridge downstream to the freeway bridge, these paths connect to the Dahan River, forming a nearly 200-kilometer cycling network aimed at providing cyclists with more convenience and enjoyment.
