Glaciers cover one-tenth of Iceland’s land area. Therefore, it’s not hard to come across massive and spectacular glaciers during your travels in Iceland. They stand majestically among the mountains, sweeping over valleys with the force of galloping horses. Driving around Iceland is truly a visual treat. As a passenger who usually falls asleep instantly when driving, I found myself unwilling to doze off even when exhausted and drowsy—afraid I might miss some breathtaking scenery.
