Every year from March to April is cherry blossom season, and many of you may already be planning your cherry blossom trips. But how about adding a twist to your itinerary—enjoying delicious Japanese plum wine under the blossoms?
Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan will once again host the “National Plum Wine Festival in Fukuoka” on March 10–11 this year. During the event, organizers will showcase over 150 varieties of plum wine from across Japan, available for unlimited tasting during the limited-time event!
In addition to on-site tastings, there will also be sharing sessions and food pairings featuring various ways to enjoy plum wine along with tasty snacks. You can even purchase your favorites to share with family and friends. If you’re in Fukuoka in March, don’t miss this fantastic event!
“National Plum Wine Festival in Fukuoka”
Dates: March 10 – 13, 2017
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (last day until 4:00 PM)
Venue: Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine (8-7-1 Kamado, Dazaifu, Fukuoka)
Transportation: Take a Nishitetsu train to Dazaifu Station, then walk 5 minutes to the shrine
Unlimited Tasting: Requires the purchase of a tasting voucher (¥1,200; allows unlimited tasting of all plum wines at the venue for 30 minutes, with each tasting limited to 10ml. If you have a “Dazaifu-Yanagawa Sightseeing Ticket,” “Dazaifu Stroll Ticket,” or “Dazaifu Washoku Set Ticket” issued by Nishitetsu, you can purchase the voucher for ¥1,000)
