New Taipei City Children’s Art Festival kicks off on the 30th with Korean JUMP martial arts show as opening performance

The 2016 New Taipei City Children’s Art Festival opens on July 30 at the New Taipei City Civic Plaza. The venue not only includes a fairy tale castle designed for children, but also giant fairy tale characters, themed installations, interactive challenges, and free live performances by well-known domestic and international theater troupes.

This year’s New Taipei City Children’s Art Festival series is themed “Courage is Your Superpower,” combining Eastern and Western fairy tales and folk stories, and features different themed performances each day. The opening act is the Korean JUMP martial arts show, bringing a hilarious parent-child comedy that blends traditional Korean taekwondo and acrobatic combat.

A series of activities at the New Taipei Children’s Art Festival also include special exhibitions at the MOCA Taipei, the 435 Art Zone, a children’s film festival, and themed book fairs. On August 6, there will also be a joyful costume parade, inviting both children and adults to dress up as their favorite characters on the day of the event and make their dreams come true together at the street carnival.
