Exclusive Coverage of the Smurfs Special Exhibition in Hong Kong: Cute Dolls, Smurf Houses, and AR Interaction

The Smurf Village has arrived at Hong Kong Harbour City! Not only does it feature 35 one-meter-tall Smurfs gathered together, but there’s also a six-meter-tall Smurf house where you can find Papa Smurf and interact with Smurfs like Smurfette through AR technology. In addition to the outdoor Smurf Village, Harbour City also hosts a Smurf Story House, a limited-time pop-up store, a 1:1 model exhibition, and a summer school program.Due to the exhibition's immense popularity, Harbour City has extended the special exhibition until after August 21.

"The Smurfs. Totally Awesome!" Village
The highlight of this Smurfs special exhibition (known as The Smurfs in Hong Kong) is the Smurf Village located at the outdoor plaza of Ocean Terminal in Harbour City. The first thing you’ll notice is the six-meter-tall giant Smurf house, followed by the 35 one-meter-tall Smurfs. Many familiar characters are on display, such as Smurfette, Brainy Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, Farmer Smurf, Painter Smurf, Greedy Smurf, Chef Smurf, Poet Smurf, and Grouchy Smurf. As for Papa Smurf, he’s inside the Smurf house.

The 35 Smurfs are all vividly crafted—you can admire them from afar or take close-up photos with them for no extra charge. However, if you want to find Papa Smurf, you’ll need to enter the giant Smurf house, which requires a 30 HKD admission fee or presenting a Smurf Villager Card. Inside the Smurf house, AR (augmented reality) technology is used; download the dedicated app to your phone to interact with and take pictures with the Smurfs.

Smurf Story House
This exhibit showcases the life of Belgian author Peyo, a recreation of Peyo’s studio, and 36 precious original manuscripts by Peyo, all specially flown in from Belgium. These include hand-drawn Smurf comic books, illustrations, creative drafts, and the original film reels of the Smurfs' first appearance on screen. Additionally, limited-edition Smurfs merchandise is available for purchase, including phone cases, small figurines, postcards, and more.

Smurf Comic 1:1 Creative Model Exhibition
Harbour City has invited two local master miniaturists, Tony Lai and Maggie Chan, to create three-dimensional models based on key elements from eight iconic 1:1 Smurf comic scenes, offering visitors another perspective to experience the miniature world of the Smurfs.

Smurfs Limited-Time Pop-Up Store
In addition to selling The Smurfs merchandise, the exclusive store also features a 4-meter-tall Smurf. Product highlights include the “1:1 Pure Black Steel Smurf Model,” a global limited edition of only 30 pieces, crafted from top-tier 316L black steel using the ancient lost-wax casting method; the “16cm Wooden Carved Smurf Model,” a global limited edition of 100 pieces, hand-carved from natural wood; and models with strong Hong Kong characteristics such as the red-white-blue dressed Little Beauty (known locally as Mei Zhi) and the kung fu-style Smurf. The pop-up store also offers a variety of premium toys for children, including Smurf night lights, talking Smurfs, Heartbeat Smurfs, and miniature Smurf village sets.

“The Smurfs. Super Fun” Summer School
The course adopts experiential theme-based teaching, training children dressed in school uniforms to become little Smurfs, inspiring their interest in cooking, sports, performance, farming, and art. The fee is HK$100.
