While travel nowadays often revolves around food, shopping, and entertainment, some people also enjoy visiting art galleries or appreciating local architecture, especially libraries. Online articles frequently showcase unique libraries around the world, but most focus on extravagant designs.
This time, we introduce a completely different design. Conarte, a cultural unit under the Monterrey City Council in Mexico, recently commissioned Anagrama to create an unconventional book space, aiming to enhance the public's reading experience.
The space features a minimalist design, complemented by wooden bookshelves and a powder-blue staircase to create a comfortable reading environment. The most distinctive feature is the 180-degree dome-like large bookshelf that wraps around the area. In addition to increasing the utilization of the shelves, it also enhances the visual sense of space through the movement of the line of sight and the lighting design, giving the impression of being inside a zero-blind-spot semi-circle.
Besides the bookshelf, the interior adopts an open design, with books arranged neatly yet not too densely. Coupled with the airy environment, it allows readers to immerse themselves more deeply in the world of books. If it successfully opens, it will surely attract many book-loving youths to come and experience it！
