In the freezing cold weather, a group of strong men light six enormous torches, each with a diameter of 1 meter and a length of 15 meters. These are eventually carried to a massive central torch, creating an absolutely spectacular scene!
This annual fire festival takes place at Tamahike Shrine in Daisenji Temple, Kurume City, Fukuoka. Many people visit this event, and families or friends who enjoy traditional culture would love to participate too!
