Little Yo’s Home
Jiayi’s new family attraction, Bantianyan Ziyun Temple Park’s “Taiwan’s Longest Roller Slide” is super fun! The 80-meter U-shaped roller slide has been completed and opened, thrilling both adults and kids — another unique slide joins Taiwan’s lineup!

The pure white sand pit not only looks lovely but is also easy to clean. After playing, just stand up and shake off the sand — it comes off easily. Many little sand-loving kids gather here, playing intently and immersed in their own creative worlds.

There’s also a seesaw shaped like a little monk, adding even more fun to the sandbox experience.

A washing area is set up nearby, so kids can play freely and head home clean and tidy — very convenient!

With playful elements added throughout, cute installations can be seen everywhere in Bantianyan Ziyun Temple Park, turning the entire plaza into a kids’ paradise.

We came especially to try Taiwan’s longest roller slide. Walk up the path from the pillar marked “Bantianyan Ziyun Temple Park” next to the little monk, and you’ll reach the playground. That slope is seriously steep — and after climbing it, there are still stairs. Before even reaching the slide, Ah Mu was already out of breath. Today was definitely a workout!
After about five minutes, we finally made it to the Bantianyan Ziyun Temple Park slide. Wow, it’s truly spectacular!
The 80-meter U-shaped roller slide is about 3 meters high, and thoughtfully features a canopy above so you can enjoy the ride even on rainy days. There are also safety fences for added protection — what an excellent playground!
In the future, they plan to build an even faster and more thrilling slide, which will lead directly into a big sand pit. You can already see the construction progress — it’s still under urgent development, and we can’t wait to come back once it’s done!
Although the warning sign recommends against using cardboard, there are also special slides available for rent at the temple. But most people still use cardboard, and used boards are left near the trash bins for others to reuse, so we didn’t bring our own — just grabbed one when we got there!
After a long wait, it was finally our turn. Yo’s excitement was written all over his face. Over these two days of our Kaohsiung-Pingtung family trip, we’ve played on all the unique slides and playgrounds in southern Taiwan — it was like a grand slide tour. We almost wore out our pants from all the sliding, but the whole family had so much fun!
Wow! Here I come, Taiwan’s longest roller slide!
The reason they discourage cardboard is due to safety concerns about excessive speed, but the slope at Bantianyan Ziyun Temple Park isn’t steep, and the speed is quite slow. Speed-loving Yo had to use both his hands and feet to get some momentum — he was really busy!
And it’s so slow that people often end up stuck together, turning it into a group slide which is even more fun, haha! Because of this, both adults and kids keep coming back to queue up for another go. Even though climbing the slope takes patience, no one minds! Later on, someone even invented a new way to slide — “on your knees” — saying it’s faster.
After sliding about 10 times, we were finally tired! Actually, sliding isn’t tiring — it’s the climbing and waiting in line that wears you out!
It’s a good thing the slide isn’t too fast, giving us enough time to cheer Yo on at the top, then dash to the bottom to greet him as he arrives. Watching the kids slide is actually more exhausting for the parents.
After playing in the children’s playground, we headed to the bustling and popularBantianyan Ziyun Templeto pray to Guanyin. The whole family sincerely wished for health, safety, and happiness! We also visitedthe Prayer Path, Arhat Square, Dragon Guanyin Square, and the Stone Parkamong other attractions,in the Bantianyan Scenic Area, making for a relaxing and enjoyable half-day trip!
A new slide about 50 meters long and even steeper is expected to be completed in about a month. The local government is also planning to add more play equipment around Ziyun Temple, aiming to create Taiwan’s first outdoor slide-themed amusement park. Once it’s finished, we’ll be back for more!
