The lavender fields in southern France bloom from late June to early July every year.I traveled to southern France in late June and went on a self-drive trip to find lavender.
Upon arriving at the ancient city of Avignon, the lavender in front of the Avignon Old Bridge had already blossomed.
In the town of Pernes-les-Fontaines the staff at the tourist center told us that there were lavender fields along the nearby roads. We drove to the Lavender Museum (Musee de la Lavande), where there was a large lavender flower bed right in front of the museum.
Upon reaching Gordesnear the Abbey of Senanque,due to its higher elevation,the lavender had not yet fully bloomed.
Along the road near Menerbes, we encountered even more brilliant sunflower fields.
Heading toward the town of Coustellet, there were several flower fields along the D90 road.
On the way down from the Red Soil Town (Rousillon), there were also several flower fields.
Perhaps the most beautiful lavender fields in southern France are those at Lavandes Angelvin in Valensole.As soon as we arrived at the farm, we saw many tourists taking photos in the fields. The lavender fields were not only vast but also undulated like waves.
There were also large fields of pink flowers nearby,
and even larger fields of wheat.
Along the roads in the Valensole area, it’s easy to come across beautiful nearby lavender fields, and tourists often stop their cars to take photos.
