A Golden Floral Carpet You Must See in Your Lifetime！Hualien’s “Golden Needle Flower Festival at Liushishi Mountain” Kicks Off on August 5

The biggest summer event in Hualien every year is the world-renowned golden needle flower sea. The “2016 Golden Needle Flower Festival at Liushishi Mountain” kicks off on August 5 and offers a 46-day floral journey. Zhang Renzhi, Deputy Director of the Agriculture Department of Hualien County Government, said that this year’s golden needle flowers in Hualien were unaffected by typhoons and bloomed as scheduled. With over 76 hectares of breathtaking golden flower seas at both Liushishi Mountain and Chikeshan, visitors from home and abroad are invited to come and enjoy the flower season in Hualien.

Peng Jinshan, General Manager of Hualien County Fuli Township Farmers' Association, also noted that the Hualien County Government had invested significant effort this year in preserving the flowers, and that the mountain area also avoided being hit by Typhoon Nepartak. Visitors can climb to the highest point of Liushishi Mountain to overlook the vast flower sea and the stunning scenery of the Huatung Valley.

In addition, considering the traffic issues to the mountainous areas during the annual flower season, the Fuli Township Farmers' Association has partnered with Ding Yun Travel Group this year to organize a loop-line shuttle service specifically for flower viewing. This allows tourists to easily explore the golden needle flower sea at Liushishi Mountain, and the shuttle service will also cover the flower fields at Liushishi Mountain, so visitors don’t have to worry about parking.

The “2016 Golden Needle Flower Festival at Liushishi Mountain” runs from August 5 to September 19. Golden needle flowers are also known as “beauties of a day” because they bloom briefly and then wither. Those who want to admire the stunning golden floral carpet should not miss this year’s golden needle flower season.
