On November 18, 2018, the launch event for the “New Ski Season, New Resort” 2018-2019 ski season at Changbai Mountain・Luneng Resort was held. Representatives from partner channels, media guests, and skiing enthusiasts gathered at the Changbai Mountain Luneng Resort Ski Area to kick off the first run of the new season, officially ushering in the grand opening of the 2018-2019 ski season.
Comprehensive Optimization and Upgrades for the New Ski Season
Positioned as “Paradise for Beginner Skiers in Asia,” Changbai Mountain・Luneng Resort achieved a comprehensive optimization and upgrade of its ice and snow vacation offerings for the 2018-2019 season. The ski area now spans 30 hectares, with 15 ski runs — including 8 beginner runs and 7 intermediate runs. It is equipped with 2 chairlifts, 3 magic carpets, and an additional connecting slope from Lift D to the cross-country skiing area. New features such as chase runs, obstacle courses, terrain parks, and a beginner ski park have been added to further enhance skiing enjoyment. Additionally, the snow play area offers a variety of activities including ice bikes, bumper cars, snow tubes, snow tanks, zorbs, and snowmobiles to cater to different levels of snow entertainment needs.
The Changbai Mountain Luneng Resort Ski Area is the first in China to provide a professional and comprehensive teaching system tailored for beginner to intermediate skiers and vacationing tourists. The resort features a five-star ski service center and China’s first standalone ski school, offering international skiing experiences and professional instructional services.
Designed by a world-renowned terrain park architect, the terrain park includes over 30 obstacles of varying difficulty levels, making it an ideal spot to showcase skiing skills and push athletic limits. The 12-kilometer cross-country skiing area meets FIS (International Ski Federation) certification standards and is capable of hosting international cross-country skiing competitions. It has hosted the FIS Cross-Country China Tour and the National Cross-Country Skiing Championships for two consecutive years, and serves as a long-term training base for national and regional winter sports teams.
Enhanced Vacation Amenities for a New Ski Season Experience
With the arrival of the new ski season, Changbai Mountain・Luneng Resort has further improved its vacation amenities. The newly opened Luneng Lingyu Hotel offers 530 rooms and suites, significantly enhancing the overall reception capacity of the resort in addition to the existing three hotels.
