The group leader Qingyuan has compiled the latest 2016 edition of Taiwan’s “Top 10 Most Terrifying Haunted Houses,”which includes abandoned hospitals, resorts, communities, and even an abandoned factory housing tens of thousands of discarded ceramic items. 1. Kinmen Abandoned Tunnel Hospital

Description: The world’s only cave hospital, located deep inside a mountain cave where sunlight never reaches. The environment is relatively cool, and its vast layout resembles a maze. Some original medical equipment is still preserved here, making it an extremely rare site in Taiwan.







2. Tainan Abandoned J Hospital

Description: For safety reasons, the exact location is kept anonymous and referred to as J Hospital. It is one of Taiwan’s largest abandoned hospitals, surpassing the also well-known Xinglin Hospital in Tainan. This massive hospital, whether visited in daytime or nighttime, exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of a scene from The Walking Dead.

Description: Though parts of this large abandoned resort have been demolished, the remaining sections are still expansive and feature numerous facilities, including a swimming pool, bowling alley, KTV, and other recreational amenities—making it a truly unique and unforgettable ruin.

Description: Located in the suburbs of New Taipei City, this is a rare abandoned hospital in the Greater Taipei area. It features a historic Japanese-style building, with well-preserved medical equipment. The operating rooms and body rooms at night take on an especially eerie atmosphere.







5. Taichung Abandoned Dongshi Vocational High School

Description: This abandoned vocational high school is situated in a remote suburban area and covers a vast space, preserving many remnants of its former school life, including desks, chairs, laboratories, and a massive abandoned gymnasium—leaving a deep impression. It is a rare type of ruin in Taiwan.
