On October 1 this year, Jimei’s tourist trolleybus officially launched, making it Xiamen’s first trolleybus-based tourism line. The route starts and ends at Xiamen North Railway Station and Longzhou Pool.
The introduction of the trolleybus marks an innovative operational model—serving as both a convenient public transport option for tourists and a unique tourism product exclusive to Jimei. It’s a true moving scenic attraction. The first batch of seven trolleybuses are all trackless green-energy vehicles, with body designs themed “Beauty Ji Together,” featuring creative hand-drawn illustrations of attractions along the route. From the exterior design to the interior layout, every detail is infused with the charm of Jimei.
The spacious and bright cabins are fitted with 21 passenger seats. Dark flooring complements the brownish-red faux leather seats, while vintage ceiling lights pair with unique handrails. The cabin also features retro steering wheels and lattice-patterned windows—each element radiating a strong vintage vibe. Inside the cabin, two elegant glass display cabinets showcase Jimei tourism souvenirs and brochures about local attractions. A mobile TV plays Jimei tourism promotional videos on loop.
Each trolleybus is staffed with costumed tourism volunteers dressed in 1920s-style attire who provide information about the attractions along the way, perfectly blending the historic charm of Jia Geng’s hometown, modern urban vibes, coastal splendor, and the nostalgic feel of the vintage trolleybus.
In addition to the mobile TV, the trolleybuses are equipped with vehicle video surveillance, GPS positioning, free Wi-Fi, intelligent heating and air conditioning systems, and some seats even have USB ports for charging mobile phones—ensuring a comfortable and tech-savvy riding experience amid your sightseeing journey.

Since its official launch, operated jointly by Jimei Tourism Company and Jimei Bus, the trolleybus not only offers optimized routes but also various promotional activities. The trolleybus offers a variety of combo ticket packages to meet diverse passenger needs.
The trolleybus weaves a seamless connection between Jimei’s main attractions and hotels. The route starts at Xiamen North Railway Station and ends at Longzhou Pool, with the first bus departing at 9:00 AM and the last at 7:00 PM. It seamlessly connects with the metro system, major Jimei attractions, and hotels, covering all key tourist sites in Jimei without missing any major star attractions. The route connects 14 scenic spots and hotels in a continuous loop, including the Learning Village, Ao Garden, Garden Expo Park, Tianmu Hot Springs, Lingling Circus City, Chengyi Science & Technology Exploration Center, Jia Geng Theater, Xinglin Bay Greenway, Civic Square, Xinglin Pagoda, Old Courtyard, Luoyue Hotel, Xinglin Bay Hotel, and Beihaiwan Hui Long Wanda Grand Hotel.
