Not only Jiuzhaigou, but also starting in mid-to-late November, many domestic scenic spots have begun to enforce winter ticket price standards, including famous sites such as Huangshan in Anhui, Lushan in Jiangxi, Mount Emei in Sichuan, and Huanglong. Discounts generally range from 30% to 50%.
Although it is considered the off-peak travel season in the industry, traveling is very cost-effective due to the significant drop in ticket and hotel prices.
At the same time, viewing autumn foliage and soaking in hot springs have become featured travel routes in the off-season tourism market.
The general manager of Beijing Chunqiu International Travel Agency introduced that although Beijing’s temperatures haven’t yet reached their coldest, hot spring routes have started to gain popularity. For example, hot spring tours to Tengchong in Yunnan, Guilin in Guangxi, and Sanya in Hainan have already begun to see tourist sign-ups.
It is reported that as temperatures continue to drop, more and more travelers are signing up for the Changbai Mountain hot spring route.
Jiangxi’s Wuyuan, familiar to many Beijing tourists for its rapeseed flowers, is also uniquely charming for maple leaf viewing this time of year. Mid-to-late November is when Wuyuan’s maple leaves are at their most beautiful—truly the best season to explore the most picturesque route.
In addition, senior citizens have become the main force in off-season travel. Climate-warm provinces and cities such as Yunnan, Hainan, Guangxi, and Fujian are especially favored by elderly tourists, while outbound travel routes to Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Macau have also attracted older travelers.
