According to Japanese media reports, following the 2009 and 2010 ski seasons, Mitsuike Plateau Ski Resort in Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture, has continued to offer free cable car access for women aged 18 to 24 this season.
The initiative aims to help young women experience the joy of skiing. Participants are mostly families, couples or friends. Although the number of participants has not been disclosed, the presence of women on the slopes has increased, and there are returning visitors traveling as families.
It is reported that the resort opens on December 23. This season will also feature dog sledding experiences. The activity runs from January 14 to April 1, 2012 (excluding January 20–30 and March 2–5). There are four sessions per day, at 10:00, 11:00, 13:00, and 14:00.
