Cycling as a mode of travel has become an increasingly trendy and eco-friendly activity, with more and more people joining in. This is a great thing—cycling is both environmentally friendly and healthy, and cycling trips allow you to enjoy the scenery along the way, making it a win-win situation.
However, cycling is not as simple as just pedaling and going; this sport still involves quite a bit of scientific understanding. The correct way to cycle can help you conserve energy to the maximum and prevent bodily harm.
The key to an energy-efficient and proper cycling method mainly lies in the reasonable use of muscle groups and adopting the correct riding posture.
To achieve the correct riding posture, you first need to make good use of your “golden muscle groups.” These include the quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, and lumbar muscles.
To properly engage these muscle groups, you should follow certain steps during practice.
When conditions allow, use cycling equipment to elevate the bicycle vertically for idle practice, or you can also practice while cycling slowly.
During practice, sit on the bicycle and begin. First, focus on contracting your lower abdomen, then create a feeling of lifting your pelvis, arch your back slightly, keep your elbows slightly bent when holding the handlebars, and raise your ankles to pedal.
If you want to ride for longer periods and cover greater distances, you must correctly apply the method of cycling. Conserve your energy and distribute it reasonably to complete your cycling trip.
Making proper use of your golden muscle groups and adopting the right cycling technique is what matters most. Follow the steps and practice while seated on the bicycle.

Practice these steps gradually, and remember to start slowly. Once your muscle groups have memorized the rhythm and pattern of the movement, you can slowly increase your speed.
Once you’ve developed the habit of maintaining the correct posture during cycling, even long-distance cycling trips will become much easier.
