The 2012 "China Sports Lottery Shenzhen Ninth New Year Step-Up Hiking Event" will officially kick off at 9:00 AM on January 4, 2012. A hiking team composed of thousands of citizens will gather at the Lianhua Mountain Kite Square and set off together to hike uphill, enjoy the view, and pray for the new year.
Organized and hosted by the Shenzhen Sports Lottery Management Center, the "Ninth Shenzhen New Year Step-Up Hiking Event" serves as the first major public event of the year for the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It aims to further foster a positive atmosphere for national fitness across the city, fully showcase the achievements of public sports in Shenzhen, guide citizens toward scientific fitness and a positive, uplifting lifestyle, and spark a new wave of national fitness enthusiasm throughout the city.
It is reported that since 2004, the Shenzhen Sports Lottery New Year Hiking Event has been held for eight consecutive years, with a cumulative participation of over 50,000 people, making it a well-known and vibrant brand event for public fitness in Shenzhen.
Data from Shenzhen Sports Lottery shows that in 2011, sales of Shenzhen Sports Lottery exceeded 2.2 billion yuan, reaching a historic high. A representative from the Shenzhen Sports Lottery Center stated that in 2012, while continuing to drive sales growth, the center will also promote a culture of health, public welfare, joy, and hope associated with the lottery. This aligns with the issuance philosophy of China Sports Lottery — "taken from the people, used for the people" — and aims to build an outdoor fitness platform for the public, contributing further to building a harmonious society and advancing the cause of national fitness.
