An American man with half-paralyzed body used a specially customized ski chair to travel 120 kilometers in sub-zero temperatures of dozens of degrees below zero over a period of more than two weeks, arriving in Antarctica on the 18th.
Kogan, 33, became paralyzed from the waist down in a snowmobile accident years ago. However, he said that although his body was disabled, his spirit was not. To commemorate British explorer Robert Falcon Scott’s historic conquest of Antarctica a century ago, he spent a year in training.
On the 18th, Kogan, along with a sports coach, two guides, and a photographer, arrived in Antarctica. The photographer captured the entire challenge process through the lens. The goal of this Antarctic expedition was to raise funds for a California-based charity dedicated to helping disabled winter sports athletes.
