Winter has arrived, and as temperatures drop, people’s enthusiasm may also wane, making them less inclined to exercise. In fact, running in winter not only helps build one’s willpower, but also strengthens the body and helps ward off the cold. Here, based on personal experience, the blogger shares some common knowledge about winter running, hoping to be of help to everyone.

First, schedule your run between 14:00 and 19:00. During this time, the temperature is more suitable than in the early morning, and both your physical strength and mental state are in a better condition. Especially in the time just before sunset, your physical strength reaches its peak, and the workout effect will be better.

Second, plan your route wisely. Choose an appropriate path according to the wind direction and surrounding environment. Run against the wind for the first half and with the wind for the second half. This not only takes your stamina into consideration but also helps you avoid catching a chill due to wind after sweating heavily, which would be counterproductive.

Third, do proper warm-up exercises. In low temperatures, your muscles, joints, and ligaments are all relatively tense. Be sure to do sufficient warm-ups before exercising to prevent injuries.

Fourth, maintain a suitable amount of exercise. Everyone’s physical condition is different. Don’t blindly pursue excessive workouts. Progress gradually, and try to keep your heart rate below 150 during exercise. Those with heart, liver, or kidney conditions should consult a doctor and exercise reasonably.
