"The first person from Shaanxi to successfully summit Mount Everest," Pu Wei, is setting off again. On the 28th, he departed from Xi'an, heading to Oceania, where he will soon leave the first footprint of a Shaanxi native on Puncak Jaya, the highest peak in Oceania.
Puncak Jaya, standing at 5,030 meters above sea level on New Guinea Island, is not only the highest peak in Oceania but also the tallest island peak in the world. The glaciers of Puncak Jaya are equatorial tropical glaciers, and its jagged limestone ridges and the solid, water-worn northern rock face give the mountain high exploratory value, making it a coveted yet rarely conquered peak among climbers. If this summit attempt is successful, Pu Wei will become the first person from Shaanxi to reach the top of Puncak Jaya.
It is reported that Pu Wei has already successfully summited Mount Everest in Asia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Denali in North America, and Aconcagua in South America, leaving the footprints of a Shaanxi native on the highest peaks of these four continents.
