  1. Equipment. Choosing ski gear involves two key elements: warmth and safety. If you ski regularly, it’s best to prepare your own complete set of equipment. For occasional skiers, you can rent gear at the ski resort, but it must fit well—equipment that is too big or too small can pose safety risks.
  2. Warm-up. Skiing is a fast-paced, highly agile full-body activity, so warming up beforehand is essential. Typical warm-up exercises include stationary stretching, walking stretches, as well as various leg presses, bends, extensions, prone positions, and jumps.
  3. Safe falling. When falling, the safest method is to let go of your ski poles, fall to the side, and keep your hands in front of your chest. After falling, do not thrash around—immediately release your ski bindings to avoid another fall. If you encounter obstacles while skiing, it’s better to fall yourself than to collide, as collisions are far more dangerous than falls.
  4. Know your limits. Beginners should never overestimate their abilities. First practice avoiding obstacles and other skiers on gentle slopes before moving on to higher or steeper runs. For those trying skiing for the first time, it’s best to have a professional instructor guide you.
  5. Emergency response. In case of an accident while skiing, don’t panic or attempt to move the injured person hastily—seek help from on-site rescue personnel immediately. For external injuries, do not use snow to stop bleeding, as snow has no hemostatic effect and may cause infection or frostbite.
