The 700-meter “Taiwan’s Longest Water Slide” at Nantou’s Xinyi Township’s “I Love Grapes Water Slide Festival,” originally planned to be open daily from July 9 to August 21, will be closed on weekdays due to recent drought and water shortages.It will be closed on weekdays starting August 10, operating only on Saturdays and Sundays, and the event has been extended to August 27.Visitors can make online reservations or purchase tickets on-site.

To promote tourism, the Xinyi Township Office in Nantou transformed the abandoned section of Provincial Highway 21 in Fengqiu, unused for seven years, into Taiwan’s longest water slide, stretching 700 meters. During the “I Love Grapes Water Slide Festival,” visitors can enjoy the scenic views while racing down the slide. However, due to continuous dry weather and tight water supply, and in consideration of agricultural water allocation, the event will now be closed on weekdays and only operate on weekends, with the duration extended to August 27 to allow more people to plan their visit.

With a water slide ticket during the event period, visitors can also enter Pinglai Glass Bridge in Xinyi Township for free
