Alpitec China 2012 Press Conference:

Slide 1
Dear partners, esteemed journalists, and friends from the winter sports industry,
The International Exhibition of Winter Sports Equipment and Facilities, Alpitec China, is about to open for its fourth edition concurrently with ISPO BEIJING, the leading trade show in the sports industry.

Slide 2
The twin shows “ISPO BEIJING / Alpitec China” strive to present a comprehensive overview of the winter sports industry. With the addition of Alpitec China, ISPO BEIJING has further enriched its exhibition content on ski resort hardware and equipment.

Slide 3
Italy’s Bolzano Fiera Exhibition Company is located in South Tyrol, in the central part of the Alps in northern Italy. This region boasts some of the world’s best ski resorts, and the area around Bolzano thrives primarily on tourism, especially winter tourism.

Slide 4
The data from the local winter sports industry clearly reflects this prosperity:
South Tyrol has 30 ski resorts, with 1,095 kilometers of slopes, 95% of which are equipped with artificial snow-making facilities. There are 375 cable car lines, serving 155 million passengers annually. In addition, the region welcomes 2.3 million winter tourists each year, 1.1 million of whom stay at least one night.

Slide 5
Our cable car and lift systems transport 130 million passengers per season, generating annual ticket revenues of 250 million euros. The tourism industry as a whole generates 1.8 billion euros in annual revenue.
South Tyrol is the world’s leading winter sports destination and home to numerous manufacturers and suppliers of winter sports technology and equipment.

Slide 6
With deep understanding of the winter sports industry, Bolzano Fiera has unique strengths in organizing winter sports exhibitions. For example, this April we will simultaneously host the Alpitec and Prowinter shows in Bolzano, Italy. This twin event is Italy’s only B2B platform for the winter sports industry, attracting key exhibitors and visitors from around the world every year.

Slide 7
Target exhibitors for Alpitec China include:
Cable cars, chairlifts, and related facilities
Snowmaking equipment and facilities
Snow grooming machines and other slope construction and maintenance vehicles and machinery
Ticketing and access control management systems
Mountain safety, first aid, and protective equipment and machinery
Ski resort, ski school, and ski rental software
Winter sports equipment maintenance, storage, and parking machinery
Supporting facilities for the competition events
Ski slope transport vehicles and all-terrain transport vehicles
Consulting services for ski resort and real estate operation and investment

Slide 8
The exhibitor group at “Alpitec China” is relatively closed, but all participating exhibitors are of very high quality. This edition of the show features 65 exhibitors from 9 different countries, 25% of which are Chinese manufacturers. This reflects that Alpitec China has undoubtedly become China’s only B2B platform for alpine and winter sports technology.

Slide 9
As a B2B industry platform, Alpitec China fully understands the needs of exhibitors and mainly attracts the following visitor groups:
Cable car and winter technology operators
Ski resort investors, shareholders, and managers
Ski and ski resort rental service centers
Winter sports clubs and associations
Ski schools and instructors
Public service departments
Travel agencies

Slide 10
In 2012, Alpitec China and ISPO BEIJING once again enriched their concurrent activities by jointly organizing the 4th Asia Pacific Ski Industry Forum. The forum invited domestic and international industry experts to share their insights, bringing the latest information on investment, tourism, and snow sports to the audience.

Slide 11
The 2012 Asia Pacific Ski Industry Forum will be held on Thursday, February 23. The conference has invited industry experts to discuss a number of current topics, including the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics in South Korea, investment and destination management, customer safety and ski patrol, market and brand building, summer business operations, and other hot trends and projects in winter sports.

Slide 12
In addition, Alpitec China will hold the “Professional Ski Resort Service Training Course” in Hall 1 of the China National Convention Center to provide training services for winter sports operators. There will also be events such as “South Tyrol – Alpine Rescue Demonstration.” During the event, a professional alpine rescue team will perform live demonstrations on how to rescue people stranded on suspended chairlifts. The demonstrations will take place several times a day. This project is developed in cooperation with TIS Cluster Alpine Safety Services, the South Tyrol Export Association, the South Tyrol Alpine Rescue Team, and Doppelmayr, aiming to ensure customer safety on the slopes and raise awareness of winter sports safety.

Slide 13
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Messe München for their excellent cooperation. I also sincerely invite experts from both domestic and international backgrounds to visit Alpitec China 2012.
Thank you all!
