China is the world’s fastest-growing consumer goods market. Over the past decade, China’s outdoor industry has evolved from a fringe sector into an indispensable and vital part of the sports industry. Recently, ISPO BEIJING 2012 (the 8th Asia Outdoor Trade Show & Fashion Exhibition) was held at the Beijing National Convention Center. Due to ISPO’s global brand restructuring, ISPO China was renamed ISPO BEIJING. In addition to the name change, the exhibition duration was extended to four days in response to industry demands.
This year, the number of exhibitors increased significantly by 28%, with domestic exhibitors rising by 20%. The total number of exhibited brands reached 516, including 204 domestic brands and 312 international brands. The exhibition area grew by 37%.
As a professional trade platform for sporting goods, the “Overseas Brand Agency Negotiation Zone” established by ISPO BEIJING since 2009 has helped many overseas brands that have not yet entered the Chinese market to understand the local industry, seek trade partners, and discover business opportunities. At this edition of the show, nearly 10 European brands such as Odlo, CRAFT, and SINNER were present to look for domestic partners.
