All-solid-wood cabins and RVs have become popular new leisure items. At the fifth China (Hangzhou) International Garden, Outdoor Furniture & Leisure Products Exhibition, which opened on the 21st at Hangzhou Peace Convention & Exhibition Center, these two types of “big-ticket” items caught the attention of visitors.
The RVs on display were produced in Tianjin, can accommodate six people, and come equipped with a bathroom and shower room. There is a double bed at the rear of the vehicle and another double bed above the driver’s cab, with a water tank that can hold 100 liters.
The RV is priced at 478,000 yuan, and can be filled with 70 liters of diesel in one go, allowing it to travel 500 kilometers without a problem. Driving an RV is not difficult—just a regular Class C1 driver’s license is required, and with short-term training, you’re ready to hit the road.
The exhibitor is an RV club from Shanghai. In addition to selling RVs, they also offer rental services. Renting an RV for travel or as a wedding photography vehicle is also a great option. Prices are 1,500 yuan/day from Monday to Thursday, 1,800 yuan/day from Friday to Sunday, and slightly higher during the May Day and National Day holidays at 2,000 yuan/day. If you need a driver, an additional fee of 100–250 yuan/day applies.
Several small wooden cabins at the leisure exhibition also attracted many visitors.
This cabin, built entirely from fir wood, is about 40 square meters in size, with one bedroom, a small living room, and a bathroom. The exhibitor explained that it only takes seven days from booking to completion of the cabin.
The cabins have attracted interest from many rural residents who own land. A resident from Tonglu said that in their village, building a house costs around 160,000 yuan, and the construction takes a long time. A single-story wooden cabin of about 40 square meters like this one costs only around 85,000 yuan.
The exhibitor stated that all the timber has undergone waterproofing, fireproofing, and termite-proofing treatments. Cabins similar to villas can be built according to demand—villas in Europe and America are often made of such wooden structures. Currently, the manufacturer is based in Hangzhou, and besides individual use, wooden structures are also intended for clubs and parks. With wheels added at the base, they can even serve as mobile guard booths for residential property management.
