Sharing Outstanding Outdoor Itineraries: Experience Unlimited

The February evaluation of the “Experience Unlimited—2012 Gore-Tex™ Outdoor Dreams Realization” event has concluded. Following online voting and expert selection, the monthly champions in each category have been determined.
Let’s take a look at the winning proposals—perhaps their dream routes can serve as inspiration for your National Day holiday trip.
Perhaps you think your dream is even greater or more creative—feel free to join the challenge.
Professional Mountaineering Category Monthly Champion: Headquarters’ “Climbing the Dragon’s Spine in the Year of the Dragon” (Link:http://fund.gore-tex.com.cn)
Some say: the Dragon’s Spine is basically an unclimbed peak. We’re not sure if that’s accurate—let’s hear your thoughts.

Trekking & Hiking Category Monthly Champion: 8264’s “Pilgrimage Around Jiala: Trekking Along the Yarlung Tsangpo River”

This is a classic outdoor trekking route, enriched and refined from a traditional Tibetan pilgrimage circuit around the sacred mountains. For thousands of years, local Tibetans have believed all things in nature possess a spirit, and they walk along rugged mountain paths with deep faith. This trek offers stunning natural scenery—the world’s largest canyon, the majestic and profound Yarlung Tsangpo River; China’s most beautiful snow-capped mountain, Namjagbarwa, piercing the sky like a spear; and the pristine Holy Lake Nalatso. While some adventurers have completed parts of this journey, very few have trekked the entire route…

Outdoor Travel Category Monthly Champion: Yuantuo Outdoor Subsite’s “Unveiling the ‘Mystery’ of Moska”
        http://www.168yt.cn/bbss/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=132&fromuid=2
This proposal introduced many people to Moska Village in the Beauty Valley of Danba—a place so isolated that it remains inaccessible by road, thus little known to outsiders. At an altitude of 4,300 meters, the entire village is embraced by three sacred mountains. To this day, villagers live and work under the guidance of a living Buddha, preserving this pristine land with an extraordinary mindset and strong faith. It’s a perfect embodiment of the harmony between humans and nature that leaves outsiders in awe.

Extraordinary Outdoor Category Monthly Champion: Headquarters’ “Helping Gongga Regain Its Youth”

Known as the “King of Sichuan Mountains,” Mount Gongga is a holy grail for countless adventurers. But while we admire its beauty, do we truly “cherish” and protect every inch of it—keeping it free from the disgrace of litter?
Little Frog, building on the 2011 Gongga route proposal, added their love for the mountain by aiming to help Gongga regain its youth—cleaning up its trails. Many may share this vision, but action speaks louder than intention.

All the above monthly champions will receive GORE-TEX gear sponsored by KOLON SPORT, BLCKY YAK, OZARK, or TOREAD.
We welcome your feedback on these proposals. Please leave your comments on our event’s Weibo page: http://event.weibo.com/388549. Your chance to win various gifts from Gore-Tex is just one dream comment away.
Submit your competition entries by visiting fund.gore-tex.com.cn or any of its sub-sites, and make your outdoor dreams come true.
