With Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, besides eating mooncakes and pomelos, barbecuing is an absolute must-do activity. This year, The Grand Hotel Taipei will hold the “Moonlight BBQ Party” on September 14 in the garden square in front of the main building. The event will feature a variety of themes, including live performances, as well as delicious festive food such as premium roasted meats, imported cheeses, and desserts with rich autumn colors. The adult price is NT$1,680 +10%, while the price for children (ages 6–12) is NT$750 +10%.

The Grand Hotel Taipei stated that last year’s (2015) “Moonlight Picnic Party” received widespread acclaim, and this year (2016) they are bringing back the “Moonlight BBQ Party” (Part Two). Over the years, the Grand Hotel’s moonlit barbecue events have been beloved by guests, mainly because on crisp autumn nights, one can enjoy sweeping views of the Keelung River and the distant Taipei 101 skyscraper.

In terms of cuisine, the themed barbecue includes Mongolian cumin-spiced whole lamb, Middle Eastern chicken shawarma, and open-fire roast duck with crispy skin, along with a rich selection of Chinese, Western, and Japanese delicacies. There will also be tender and juicy beef short ribs, savory salt-grilled oysters, grilled squid, and various other barbecue specialties, as well as a wide range of fresh seafood. Additionally, there will be Taiwanese home-style snacks like dan dan noodles and oyster vermicelli, healthy fresh vegetables, and a variety of island fruits.
