To promote the event, U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama personally recorded a welcome video. In the video, Michelle said, “The White House is not just the residence of the President or a place for world leaders to meet — it is also the ‘People’s House.’”
Many visitors have come in person to see these halls and admire the artworks. They closely examine portraits of great figures such as Washington and Lincoln, and imagine the history that has unfolded here. Now you can do all of this without leaving your home.”
The online tour includes 139 works created by 98 master artists, including portraits of former presidents and First Ladies. In addition, users can explore 13 public rooms in the White House online, including the State Dining Room, the ground floor Library, and the public rooms adorned with numerous famous artworks — each piece is accompanied by detailed explanations.
However, the Oval Office and private bedrooms are not included in the online tour of the White House.
