Today, as TV variety shows evolve, talent competitions are declining, dating shows are losing steam, and extreme challenge reality shows are emerging as a new trend. Many TV networks are diving into this genre, and tomorrow Hunan TV will air its first-ever extreme challenge reality show, *Mango Big Live*. Renowned American climber Dean Potter will
perform three extreme challenges: free soloing, highlining on a cliff, and wingsuit flying—all without any safety gear.
According to reports, Dean Potter will first free solo an 1,800-meter-high peak. Upon reaching the summit, he will walk across a 50-meter-long slackline (a flat, flexible rope) without any protection, attempting to break his own world record for highlining. After succeeding in that, he will don a special flight suit to perform an unprotected wingsuit flight at high altitude, followed by a low-altitude targeted parachute landing. To prepare for this challenge, Dean Potter has repeatedly practiced walking the slackline in the Grand Canyon before the live broadcast, with increasing success rates and improved mental readiness. Regarding the challenge scheduled for 2:30 PM on the 22nd, Dean Potter told reporters he is very confident: “I will use my body as art to conquer the Enshi Grand Canyon.” Reported by our reporter Zhu Qinji.
