Zhejiang Daily News: "I'm trapped in the mountains and can't get down, come and save me!" At 11:29 am today, the Yongkang City Fire Brigade received an alarm reporting that seven hikers were trapped in the mountains, one of whom was injured.

During the intermittent calls, the firefighters got a general idea of what had happened: around 6:00 am today, over 20 hikers from downtown Yongkang had agreed to explore Longxi Mountain. By noon, heavy rain had started falling on the mountain, and 15 of the hikers decided to head down, but the other seven, feeling adventurous, continued toward the summit.

Soon after, an accident occurred. One of the hikers, Ms. Xu Meiyao, around 40 years old, slipped and fell down the slope while climbing. Fortunately, she was stopped by a large rock, which saved her life, but she suffered a fracture in her right ankle and was bleeding heavily. Seeing this, the group panicked and immediately called 119 for help.

At 11:55 am, firefighters arrived at Longxi Mountain equipped with safety ropes, carabiners, harnesses, and other rescue gear. At that time, a local villager familiar with the terrain also voluntarily joined the rescue team, and a joint effort between police and civilians began.

"Don't be afraid, stay where you are. The rescue team has entered the mountain and they will find you!" While calming the stranded hikers, the duty officer quickly reported their exact location to the front-line rescuers.

There are five peaks on Longxi Mountain. The area is full of cliffs, and the paths up the mountain have no steps—only scattered rocks and dense thorny bushes, making the rescue extremely difficult.

The rescuers shouted toward the stranded hikers as they advanced along the rugged mountain path. By then, the rain had intensified. What was the condition of the trapped people? Were there any other injuries? These were the concerns weighing on the rescuers' minds.

"Speed up the search, otherwise there could be fatalities," ordered the commander, prompting everyone to quicken their pace and press on through wind and rain in their uphill search.

At 12:30 pm, the rescuers finally located the seven stranded individuals. By then, Ms. Xu’s leg was still bleeding profusely. The rescuers found cloth strips and tree branches to dress her wound. "Put on the safety harness, fasten the buckle, I’ll carry you down the mountain!" The squad leader and one rescuer took turns carrying the injured woman on their backs, while another rescuer held the back of the harness tightly to secure her. Two rescuers led the way ahead... And so, with the help of the rescue team, after more than two hours of emergency rescue, at 2:30 pm, the seven stranded hikers safely reached the foot of the mountain.
