Exclusive report from Everest Base Camp (Special Correspondent Zou Jin, Correspondent Cao Zhikai) Yesterday afternoon, the Diyou Mountaineering Team received some exciting news—four team members, Wu Dong, Zhang Yu, Chen Chen, and Zhang Jun, were admitted to the Party on the front lines at the base camp located at an altitude of 5,200 meters.

All four new Party members are graduate students from the Physical Education Department of China University of Geosciences. Wu Dong serves as the food manager for the mountaineering team, Zhang Jun as the equipment manager, Zhang Yu as the head of the training team, and Chen Chen, the only female member, is one of the key athletes.

During a previous training session in Lhasa, the first meeting of the Diyou Mountaineering Team’s temporary Party branch identified the above four individuals as key candidates for observation. After more than a month of evaluation, yesterday, Branch Secretary Lu Jie presided over the third meeting of the temporary Party branch to discuss their admission to the Party.

Including our reporter, there were 15 Party members (13 full members) in the mountaineering team who attended this meeting. The performance of the four team members was recognized by all, and they were unanimously approved as probationary members of the Communist Party of China.
