Many people visit Macau either for gambling or for food. Located on the Sands Avenue in Macau’s Estrada da Baía, the most famous hotel used to be The Venetian Macao. But since the Parisian Macao opened in 2016, many have wanted to stay at this luxurious property, which cost $2.9 billion to build. Aside from the Eiffel Tower replica, couples also flock to the iconic love locks.

The 162-meter-tall (about 38 stories) Eiffel Tower replica may only be half the size of the original in Paris, but it puts on a light show every 15 minutes in the evening, totaling 15 shows per day. In the evenings, many tourists can be seen lingering in front of the hotel, hoping to capture that sparkling, dreamlike moment.

Like many observation towers, the Parisian Tower also allows visitors to take an elevator up to the observation deck—for a fee. However, the entrance on the 7th floor is designed for taking photos with the tower itself, and it's also where the famous love locks are located. The observation deck on the 37th floor offers panoramic views of Macau’s streets. Although the air is cooler at high altitude, the breathtaking views make many feel that going up is an essential part of the experience.
The concept of the love locks on the Parisian Tower originates from the Eiffel Tower in Paris. However, the “Bridge of Love Locks” in Paris was cleared in 2015, and there are now very few locks left there, much to the disappointment of many travelers—though the safety concerns are understandable.

If you stay at the Parisian Hotel, the hotel provides free admission tickets to the Eiffel Tower. For those who pay to enter, staff will help take a commemorative photo while you're waiting in line to buy tickets, and then composite it into a specially designed Parisian-themed frame as a keepsake.
The love locks on the Parisian Tower must be purchased at the entrance of the souvenir shop on the 5th floor. Couples can write messages to each other on the locks and attach them in open and easy-to-find spots—perhaps they’ll be able to see their love token again on a future visit.
