Over 800 hikers from China and South Korea gather at the shores of Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou to “pitch tents”
From May 26 to 27, more than 800 outdoor sports enthusiasts from across the country—including Xinjiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Fujian, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang—as well as from South Korea—gathered at Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou to attend the first Outdoor Leisure Sports Conference. They “used the sky as a blanket and the earth as a bed,” setting up nearly a thousand colorful tents along the lakeside.
With the diversification of tourism formats, an increasing number of travel enthusiasts are venturing outdoors, embracing a deeper way of experiencing travel, and outdoor camping has become a new favorite in fashionable tourism. The first Outdoor Leisure Sports Conference is one of the commemorative events for the 30th anniversary of Qiandao Lake tourism, with the theme “Protect the Water Source, Enjoy the Outdoors.”
For just a self-paid fee of 30 yuan, you can camp by Qiandao Lake and also enjoy authentic local ingredients such as cornbread, spicy rice soup, fragrant horn snacks, sweet potato dumplings, and organic fish. Moreover, you can drink to your heart’s content with fellow outdoor enthusiasts over Qiandao Lake’s eco-beer. Many hikers said it was a back-to-nature experience that was truly worthwhile.
In recent years, Chun’an County has been vigorously creating a leisure and vacation atmosphere while developing sightseeing tourism around the lake. Nowadays, strolling along the shores of Qiandao Lake, you can see self-driving vehicles speeding by and groups of cyclists laughing and singing... This vibrant atmosphere weaves a splendid chapter in Qiandao Lake’s tourism story.
Unique ancient trails such as the Xiulong Ancient Trail, Chashan Ancient Trail, Liaoling Ancient Trail, and Baiji Ancient Trail, majestic peaks including Moxinjian, Jinzi Jian, and Sanjingjian, as well as diverse villages like Zhongzhou Tea Mountain Village, Jinfeng Bairao Village, Langchuan Qinchuan Village, and Yaoshan Tianping Village have injected strong momentum into the development of outdoor tourism in Qiandao Lake. Various outdoor activities such as river canyoning, fjord trekking, ancient trail exploration, rural experiences, landscape photography, and lakeside camping have also provided Qiandao Lake with even more possibilities for outdoor tourism development.
