Although most regions across the country were already in the peak of summer, the Gangshika snow peak that day was still swept by biting cold winds, with snow over a meter thick on the mountain. This provided participants in the ski mountaineering exchange conference with an excellent natural ski slope. Based on the actual skill levels of the participants, the organizing committee divided them into high, medium, and low-level skiing teams. At 9 a.m., the advanced group of ski mountaineers, led by instructors, eagerly began climbing from the base camp at 4,350 meters toward the subsidiary peak. The other two groups set off shortly after, transforming the usually tranquil snow peak into an unusually lively scene.
Due to the thin air on the Gangshika snow peak, participants soon found themselves out of breath, but they continued climbing relentlessly toward the summit. A participant from Liaoning said that although he had skied in many places before, this year’s trip to Gangshika captivated him with its unique scenery.
