Marathon, a track and field event once daunting due to its ultra-long distance of over 40 kilometers, is now creating a wave of enthusiasm across China. The country's highest-altitude full marathon, which just concluded on the 10th, attracted more than 32,000 participants. Prior to that, a series of events such as the Xiamen Marathon, Chongqing Marathon, and Tianjin Marathon had already been held; subsequently, races like the Hangzhou Marathon will also take place. It is reported that China will host more than 30 official marathon events this year, averaging nearly three per month, with the number expected to further reach around 50 annually in the coming years.
