The SALEWA Italian Eagleback Journey has officially kicked off

What does freedom weigh? It’s that feeling of being surrounded by freedom when you can soar alongside a soaring eagle.

“Half the weight, double the strength” — this is SALEWA’s unwavering pursuit of product quality. Product innovation and quality management have always been the winning formulas that attract more outdoor enthusiasts to the SALEWA brand. The brand’s hybrid nature allows our products to inherit the strengths of both “parents” — world-renowned top-tier German technology and cutting-edge Italian design at the forefront of fashion. When we talk about product quality, it’s not just about hard metrics related to technology and performance. It also encompasses how we express our friendships and dreams, the free spirit of being immersed in nature, and the passion found in the mountains. Through real adventure stories, co-designing products with renowned athletes, ROCKSHOW, the Argentine Soul Journey, and the Eagleback Journey — these seasonal events bring people into the emotional world of the SALEWA brand.

From June 7 to 18, after overcoming numerous challenges, Xiao Xin Isn't a Hooligan, a Qyer.com travel expert, and Bei Chuang, a trail running advocate and marketing director of an outdoor magazine, will soar on the eagleback alongside SALEWA mountaineering and exploration athletes.

When it comes to traveling in Italy, aside from Rome’s history, Venice’s romance, Milan’s fashion, Florence’s tranquility, and Sicily’s sunshine, what else comes to mind? Have you ever thought about touching the captivating textures of the Dolomite (Dolomiti) mountain cliffs with your own hands in northern Italy’s mountains, then sitting at the foot of the snow-capped peaks sipping an espresso?

Bolzano (Bozen) is the capital of South Tyrol in northern Italy, close to the Austrian border and northwest of Venice. It is the only region in Italy where both Italian and German are official languages, giving this quaint, fairytale-like town with Austro-Hungarian charm an air of mystery and intrigue.
SALEWA’s new headquarters building is located in a unique area near the Bolzano highway. It skillfully integrates various scales of daily life — from physical, social, and communication dimensions to work styles and leisure living — symbolizing a hub of information exchange. This exchange refers to the dense network of material and immaterial relationships that form the very essence of life of this modern company.
This modernist building at the foot of the mountain not only adds no burden to the surrounding environment but also generates its own electricity through a photovoltaic system. It not only consumes no local power resources but also provides free electricity to nearby residents. SALEWA didn’t cover the outside of the building with flowers, yet it blends completely with nature. Everyone who visits hopes to find a job here immediately. And it’s not just because of the convenience the company offers, but because you’re drawn to its sense of responsibility.

Big wall climbing represents the highest level of mountaineering. It is a high-difficulty sport involving skill and environment. The desire for freedom and unyielding perseverance are the most essential personal qualities for big wall climbers. Wearing the 77-year brand DNA of SALEWA, get up close to the world’s best big wall climbing athletes — those you’ve only seen on magazine covers clinging to cliffs all day — and try teaming up with them for a climb. The most breathtaking views are found on the most perilous peaks.
When you press your heart against the big walls high in the northern Italian mountains, far from the pull of gravity, even the stones feel tender.
