On July 7, a three-generation Taiwanese family that had undertaken a 4,500-kilometer cycling “long march” arrived in Shanghai and cycled around attractions such as the Bund and Yu Garden.
On July 2, Zhang Shengkai, now 50 years old, set off from Fuzhou with his 78-year-old father Zhang Hanzhang and 12-year-old son Zhang Jiahao, beginning a 4,500-kilometer cycling “long march” across three generations. They will bike from Fuzhou to Harbin, passing through eight provinces including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Heilongjiang, as well as three municipalities—Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin. The journey is planned to take 28 days, with one-fifth of the route to be completed together with local cycling enthusiasts.
