A joint international resort destination project — the Changbai Mountain International Resort (Phase I) — has been developed with an investment of 20 billion yuan by six Chinese private enterprises: Wanda Group, Oceanwide Group, Yifang Group, Elion Resources, Legend Holdings, and Yonyou Group. It is reported to be one of the largest tourism and resort investment projects in China to date.
In addition, the Changbai Mountain International Resort donated 20 million yuan to Baishan City to establish the Baishan Cultural Industry Fund.
The Changbai Mountain International Resort is located in Fusong County, Jilin Province, covering a total area of 21 square kilometers. It is 10 kilometers from Changbai Mountain Airport and 20 kilometers from the Heavenly Lake (Tianchi). The Phase I opened projects include four hotels: the five-star-plus Wanda Westin Hotel, the five-star Wanda Sheraton Hotel, the Wanda Holiday Inn, and the Wanda Apartment Holiday Inn, as well as a tourist town and a cultural center. The ski resort, grand theater, Shaman Museum, and hot spring bath center, which were completed in Phase I, will also open this winter.
