The 2012 First China Slackline Competition was successfully held at the Asia Outdoor Exhibition. The exciting event attracted numerous onlookers, and performances by professional masters drew rounds of applause.
Over the four-day exhibition period, after several intense rounds of competition, the jump event was ultimately won by Lyu Bin, a student from China Agricultural University, with6.97seconds; the speed event champion was Ou Dahua, a student from Guiyang Medical University, who had previously won first place in the slackline speed event at the 2012 Ninghai Camping Conference inMay.
This year’s slackline competition was fortunate to have China’s foremost freestyle slackliner Zhang Liang as a special guest, and LUKAS, the overall winner of the GIBBON Slackline Competition at the July European Outdoor Exhibition, also made a personal appearance. They not only delivered astonishing slackline performances but also generously provided hands-on coaching and explanations to the audience.
Walking on a slackline may seem simple, but it demands a high level of body balance. Many onlookers were eager to give it a try, and even many children showed great interest, attempting to walk the line with the help of their parents. The hosting of the First China Slackline Competition at the 2012 Asia Outdoor Exhibition brought slacklining activities to a wider audience.
